I wanted to move to Charleston at least ten years before I finally did. I visited several times and fell in love with the rich history, familiar culture, and the quick access to water. But life happens and I got married, bought a home, had children, and it never seemed like a convenient time to move. As a family we continued to visit and over the years each of us created our own reasons for wanting to be Charlestonians. I wanted this for myself, and I wanted this for my kids. The only thing I didn't want was to leave our extended family.
And then came the terrible winter of 2015 - and that's when I decided to take a leap of faith and move - and it was the best decision I've ever made!
I tell my friends, "You don't know what you're missing," because this quaint little town has enriched our lives so much. My only regret is not moving at my first inclination. Hey - family can always visit.
